Trial Reader Extensions credentials error

Hello experts

 

I have just installed Windows x64 turnkey version of LC server.

I got some errors during installation (admittedly I should have make a note of these, sadly I havent) however these were not particulary descriptive so I have decided to continue and see if I will be able to fix these later.

At the moment I only had a look at admin console (seems to work fine) and I tried to launch Reader Extensions module but latter does not want to start. After logging in I am presented with following message:

 

Application alert

A fault occured while trying to access the list of Reader Extensions credentials

 

and subsequently I am being logged off.

 

I tried to find the cause of that issue in Trust Store to no avail.

 

Can anyone help?

Unlock password protected, reader extended document

Hi,

 

I'm trying to unlock/remove password on a password protected and reader extended document in a long lived process. Below is the workflow description

 

A batch process that fires periodically to send service feedback forms to customers.

 

  • Long lived process to Gather data ---> Render Dynamic pdf ---> Password Protect (to disable printing and extracting pages) ---> Reader Extend (for saving edited pdf on client machine) ---> Send Email to customer.
  • Long lived process to Receive feedback via Email endpoint --> Remove/Unlock (?) password ---> Extract data from PDF --->  further operations to update data in tables.

 

My findings:

 

  1. Remove PDF Password Encryption (Failed here)  ---> Extract data
    • Error: ALC-ENC-100-005 You cannot change security on this document because the document is signed or certified or reader extended.: ALC-ENC-100-005 You cannot change security on this document because the document is signed or certified or reader extended.
  2. Remove Usage Rights ---> Remove PDF Password Encryption ---> Extract data   == SUCCESS
  3. Unlock Password Encrypted PDF ---->  Extract Data (Failed here)
    • Error: com.adobe.internal.pdftoolkit.core.exceptions.PDFSecurityAuthorizationException: Security Manager for decryption is not set: com.adobe.livecycle.formdataintegration.client.ExportFormDataException: com.adobe.internal.pdftoolkit.core.exceptions.PDFSecurityAuthorizationException: Security Manager for decryption is not set
  4. Remove Usage Rights ---> Unlock PDF Password ---> Extract data (Failed here)
    • Error: com.adobe.internal.pdftoolkit.core.exceptions.PDFSecurityAuthorizationException: Security Manager for decryption is not set: com.adobe.livecycle.formdataintegration.client.ExportFormDataException: com.adobe.internal.pdftoolkit.core.exceptions.PDFSecurityAuthorizationException: Security Manager for decryption is not set

 

I see that the "Unlock Passwod Encrypted PDF" service works fine in Short Lived Process. I'm unable to make it work in Long Lived process. Can someone please explain this behavior? Why is the limitation to Unlock PDF Password service to work only in short lived process?

Reader Extensions workflow

I make XFA forms and usually just add reader extensions through Acrobat but now have a form from which I will need to extract data from more than 500 users so can't do it this way.

 

Can I just purchase the Reader Extension module to allow me the license to do this and if so what is the workflow for this module?

Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES Version 8 - res problem

We have been using Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES Version 8 to create forms that are used internally within the business, but also externally for customers to complete and email back to us.

We haven't created new forms for a while, but now when we log into the LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server User Interface and try to res a form, it just times out.

It gets to the process status, and then just stalls and says that it's downloading, but nothing actually happens. Any ideas on a fix?

Rights Management - LiveCycle QR Code Query

I created a form in adobe pro for teachers to input data in order to create an open house card to give to parents. In Pro, I am able to view the QR generated code (their email address or website). I don't want to collect the data for any reason, but so far my understanding is for it to work in Reader (which, let's be honest, most teachers use) I need to run an extension via Live Cycle - which I guess is something major corporations use, not individuals. I've already done the necessary steps in Pro to enable additional features in reader...but the QR code for the card remains a blank square. I'm attaching screen shots for you to understand the simple scope of my project.

I've called the sales reps for LiveCycle... and they have not gotten back to me. I'm a simple teacher trying to make something for other teachers to use. Am I missing a key step? If not, does anyone have any idea of the cost of LiveCycle - can the reader extensions be purchased a la carte?  I can't even find that information on the web! to reiterate - this form works as designed as long as the end user opens the file in adobe pro. adobe reader renders the file useless for the end user. Help?

How to buy/install Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions

Hi

There is no straight answer for how to get the 'Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions' anywhere. We need to connect our database web services to our LiveCycle forms. Can someone please assist?

 

PS:

We have forwarded this query to the Adobe team in Sydney. But I am not expecting any reply from them for next 20-30 days.

They do not seem be interested in sales. There are some queries that we are still waiting for since last 1 and half months.

It would be great if Adobe shows some interest in building relations and provide at least some pre-sales service if not after-sales.

I'm currently using Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES4.  We use this to extend our PDF acroforms so they can be run in Reader and execute the JavaScript.  As I understand it this product is reaching end of life. What is Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES4 being replaced with?  I've read several posts regarding this issue but there seems to be some confusion regarding LiveCycle Reader Extensions versus LiveCycle Designer.  I am not using LiveCycle Designer.

How do you programmatically "enable for commenting"?

I have seen a million forum posts where people want to programmatically enable their pdfs for commenting, and the answer is: use LiveCycle.  We are considering buying LiveCycle for our server JUST for this purpose, since there doesn't seem to be any other way to do it.  Before we do, I want to know how it would work.  Since I don't have livecylce, I can't very well poke around and figure it out, and I don't see any free trial downloads.  Can anyone explain how you would go about this task?  On the other hand, isn't the pdf an open document standard?  Is there any way to modify the pdf "under the hood" to enable it for commenting, without using the Acrobat menu item?

Enable Usage Rights for Webservice using code

We are looking for code that allows us to enable web service and database connectivity rights into a form. We are using LiveCycle Forms 7.2 to render the XDP and merge data. Because we are merging data into the form, it has to be reader enabled through the  code everytime it is presented to the user in our application.

 

These are the parameters we do have but we do not see one for web service connectivity.

 

usageRights[0] = com.adobe.document.pdf.DOCUMENT_SAVE.value;
usageRights[1] = com.adobe.document.pdf.FORM_FILL_IN.value;
usageRights[2] = com.adobe.document.pdf.FORM_EXPORT.value;
usageRights[3] = com.adobe.document.pdf.FORM_IMPORT.value;
usageRights[4] = com.adobe.document.pdf.FORM_ONLINE.value;

 

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated

Custom PHP Script to Post to Reader Extender

What APIs are available to post data using an HTTP request to the reader extensions server and then have a response back of the PDF that is extended? Is there any documentation?

Greetings,

I am using ES3 to generate a PDF from and XFA assembly.

It is Reader Extended, has form fill-in and Digital Signature enabled - and a Document Open password.

 

On occasion, when I recieve one of these documents back - instead of being able to remove the Usage Rights in my LiveCycle process, I get the error above.

 

Removing Usage Rights, Removing Password, Get Signature Fields all fail similarly.

Unlocking Document does not error out.

 

 

Any Idea what is 'wrong' with the document?

Acrobat X Pro has no issues opening and accessing the document

Evaluating LiveCycle for Reader Extensions functionality

Hi All,

 

I have a technical requirement I am trying to solve. I need to limit printing of a PDF. The PDF is generated dynamically and distributed immeditaly. I have come up with two ideas, both relying on javascript. The relevent approach to this fourm would be to have my PDF blessed with Reader Extensions privledges such that my PDF can make SOAP calls to a listening service that will register prints, then when it exceeds the threshold trigger document.close or a watermark.

 

With that said I have pulled a trial of Adobe LiveCycle ES4 and have it up and running on a server. I noticed when trying to enable the reader extensions functionallity that I needed some sort of license or credentials. Is there something I am missing in the documentation or the packaging where this evaluation license might be hiding?

 

With that said I must acknowledge I do see the security risk in having that avalible, which may very well be why I cannot find it. If that is the case, is there anyway to evalute this product?

 

- Caveat -

I have contacted Adobe Sales && 4Point solutions with no help as of yet.

 

Any help is appreciated

LiveCycle Designer

I purchased LiveCycle Designer ES4 on February 5, 2018.  I am finding the PDF file generated from LC cannot be used well by my target audience using Adobe Reader.  The users cannot save a electronic copy of the file.  It would appear the solution offered by Adobe would be to obtain license for Reader Extensions, however, I am unable to find a means to accomplish that seemingly simple task.

 

I need help in obtaining Reader Extensions for Adobe LiveCycle ES4.

opening the form will remove usage rights?

Hi everyone,

 

 

  I reader extended a form in my trial version. After that, when I try to open the form in livecycle designer, I see a message box saying that

 

" Some usage rights have been applied to the form you want to open. Opening the form will remove usage rights. Do you want to continue? "

 

Why is this message appearing? why is it removing the usage rights when I open the form?

Installation of Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2

Hi,

 

Adobe has informed us that we need to use Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2 in stead of Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. We had some doubts about the reason why, but that's a different issue.

 

Now, when we want to order Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2 we need to indicate on what application server we will install (IBM WebSphere / Oracle WebLogic / JBoss). However, I want to install it on a desktop pc. Can anybody explain me which of the 3 options I need to order? What is the difference?

Install Chinese Language Package??

I have created several forms in LiveCycle Designer ES4. When I send the forms as dynamic PDFs to others to use they are unable to use the documents. The receive an error when they attempt to open the items stating that they must install the Traditional Chinese Language Support Package. There is no Chinese in the forms. They are entirely in English. How can I fix this issue so that my users can view my forms??

Hi folks,

We've recently acquired Reader Extensions license (with Expiration Date in year 2023 ) for enabling a couple of our newly developed corporate eforms. Those eforms would be distributed to the public for collecting their enrolment of certain public services and the returned forms (or barcode enabled hardcopies) would not be participated to the corporate LCES processes.  I wonder whether there's a difference for enabling our eforms between the two LCES Draft levels for my case? And do you have any idea for whether I can still re-enable my Designer modified eforms after I applied "Final" RE level to the said forms previously?

Hi Everybody

 

I want to know about the installation of Adobe Reader Extension Server. I have Adobe LiveCycle ES2 service pack installed into my machine. Now, i want to install Adobe Reader Extension ES3 into my machine.

 

I want to know, will it be work with my machine? Will Reader Extension ES3  be compatible with LiveCycle ES2 service pack?  Is there any way to use Reader Extension as trial version?

 

Please help me in this regard.
